This article presents an approach to calculating the economic hinterlands in coastal harbours by using the combination of the O-D logistics and the graphic demonstrations,computes the economic hinterlands in all the harbours of Shandong province,predicts the handling capacity of all the harbours and contrasts with the real handling capacity. It also proposes the computing method of the shortest distance of the blend route of the highway and the railway and the optimum method of the layout of the complicated nonlinear network cargoes.
